The year is coming to a close and what an eventful one has it been. Just a year ago I was stuck at home and unable to travel due to COVID lockdowns. Never had a chance to connect with my out of state family and friends. But things are slowly opening up again, and life is presently semi-normal. I am even able to do some traveling this Christmas.

A major change for this year is my long-time roommate got married and moved with his lovely wife to Virginia. So, I settled into a new apartment just a few buildings over from the former. I hope the neighbors enjoy the sweet tone of a Fender Stratocaster played through a Marshall.

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thess. 5:18, ESV). I think this is true enduring wisdom from the Apostle Paul. Praise God for sustaining us through all the turbulence happening through the year.

Lots of stuff to angst over in 2021. Riot at the Capital, another presidential impeachment, vaccine mandate debates, cost of living going up $$$, fall of Afghanistan are just a handful troubles thrown at us this year. Troubles all around, yet hope remains. To be certain, “Neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:38-39).

God is in control. He is seated high and lifted upon the throne of heaven, and nothing happens outside of His hand of providence. Despite our wickedness, He is gracious. He is the God who saves. If we call upon Him, He will save us. Our troubles will come to pass and victory awaits with Christ. When Christ appears, then we will appear with Him in glory (Col. 3:4). Maranatha!

I know my posts are few and far between, but God willing, I will get some new ones up before the year ends.

Thanks to all those who have come around and read my blog posts. You are the best!
