Truth is so obscure in these times, and falsehood so established, that unless we love the truth, we cannot know it (Pensées, 10.864).

— Blaise Pascal

Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) is an esteemed western intellect out of France who delivered numerous profound insights in the arenas of mathematics, science, philosophy, and theology.

Whatever is truth corresponds to reality. Nowadays, many are lulled into a distorted notion of “truth.” It might be supposed that “truth” is popular opinion, what works for everyone, or something that vibes well deep down inside, but such notions miss the mark. Truth corresponds to reality, whether anyone believes it, or affirms anything to the contrary, truth always exists. All that is antithetical to truth is simply a falsehood or lie.
